I'm not sick anymore; though I do have a persistant hacking cough that is taking a long time to go away. I figured I should bump my blog since I'm not sick anymore. Other than that, not too much going on. Isn't this a boring post? Yes, why I do think it is.... (Bump)
The Army of the 12 Monkey's is alive and well. I haven't been sick, like really sick, in years. Even my wife, who considers me a whiney bitch, agreed that this was the case. It was hard not to think of the attack on my body as a form of spiritual attack. Here I found this evil virus attacking me, attempting to wreak destruction, havok, and mayhem on my corporeal being. It was indeed like an attack of a demonic force trying to rip my self-hood assunder. This vile virus was most likely spawned somewhere deep in the bowels of Thialand; a place where one of my co-workers recently returned. He arrived, transporting the virus in his own body; a modern day typhoid Mary. He shows up at work, after his long travels, and quickly infects one of his co-workers. Four days later, I begin to feel the virus invade my being. Last week was a busy time with Freemason activities and, I fear, that I may have infected any number of senior citizens, upstanding members of our local communitie
I really resent the fact that my body is being used as a biological weapons testing facility. Some guy at work brought a virus into the office and I had succumbed to it by Friday. I took Friday off of work and spent the whole day in bed; hoping that rest would improve the situation. This weekend has been the single most beautiful of the entire year, sunny and a perfect 80 degrees all day. Yesterday was Terry's birthday and I had a big day planned. Instead we had to call off most activities including a movie showing on the boat in the evening that we had promoted to our friends and neighbors. Today is Father's day and I'm supposed to go down to see my dad for a BBQ. I'm sure I will drag myself into the car and do it, but I truly feel miserable. The 'sickness' has spread into my lungs and I have a healthy raspy rumbling cough that makes me sound like the waking dead each time an attack comes on. How truly pathetic. I hope this viral scourge purges itself f
This evening I attended the last meeting of the calendar year at our Lodge; since it goes dark in July and August and starts up with new officers in September. I had already volunteered to be the Senior Steward, a minor office that is a typical chair for a newly initiated brother. However, this evening something surprising happened. The newly appointed Worshipful Master came up and asked me if I would mind taking a different chair. The officer who previously held it could no longer continue his duties due to other committments. Of course I said yes, since you are obligated to help out the Worshipful Master when asked. Drum roll please..... So....you are now speaking to the Chaplain of the Wentzville Masonic Lodge, #46. I am responsible for all of the prayers to Almighty God, the Grand Architect of the Universe, during our ceremonies. Is that sweet or what!? --------------------------------------------------- Tonight my nephew Charlie was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason a
I really don't have much time to make a post. My primary motivation is I simply want to 'bump' the old one. I had a pleasant weekend that involved the usual; boating and entertaining. My reputation as a gracious host is growing and more people seem to drop by each weekend. I continue to keep my calendar updated and it gets more crowded by the minute with scheduled events and potential activities in the area. There has been plenty going on with my Mason affiliated activities as well. Last Wednesday my nephwew Charlie was passed to the degree of fellowcraft and on Thursday Alex turned in part of his obligation to DeMolay. Last evening I attended the school of instruction in Wentzville to practice for Charlie's third degree on Wednesday. Charlie has his second degree education on Tuesday, his third degree on Wednseday, preceeded by a lovely dinner hosted by the Eastern Star ladies, and on Thursday Charlie will witness a third degree in Wright City; his first time si

The Agiea Summer party at my home was a big success. It was an enormous amount of work and I occasionally asked myself "Why am I doing all of this?" However, the answer was fairly simple. I like to entertain and make sure people have a great party to attend. I enjoy cooking the food and setting up the entertainment and making sure a lot of people have a really good time. I can't speak for everyone but I think in general most people left satisfied. The party began at 2pm and ended around 1am with about seven people crashing at my house. The certainly sounds like success to me. I was thinking there would be a lot of left-overs but, surprisingly, there was very little left. I served tiger prawns, scallops, salmon, chicken breast, chicken legs, country style pork ribs, hamburgers, and sausages. For desert there was carrot cake, strawberry cheescake, and choclate brownies. There were also a variety of sides. I served good wine, beer, soda and water. The one thing I fell short

Just a quick update. My Memorial Day photographs were very well received. Thanks Becka, Christa, and Stephanie for making many people smile. It looks like the party train is on a roll because I'm throwing another one on Saturday. Our friend and colleague Simon is in town from Zurich. My company has a bad habit of flying people from around the world, putting them hard to work, and then sending them back home without having any opportunity to do something fun. So, I volunteered to throw a party for Simon. Next I asked my boss if he would pay for the party and he agreed. So, now that the party is funded it is really shaping up well. The party starts at 2pm and begins with boating on the lake, both in my pontoon boat and my friend Marty's speedboat. We will have the swimming pool open, massage-chair, washers, and the ping-pong table set up. Later, in the afternoon, we will have a BBQ with great food and drinks. In the evening a live band is performing classic 80's co
