Now, that's a big a projection screen. I sold my copy of "ET" and some shorts to raise some money to buy myself a new projection screen. I incorrectly identified my old tripod screen as being 7 foot when it is, in fact, only 6 foot. I would like to have a really, really, huge screen, but they are extremely expensive. However, recently a new tripod model has come out that unfolds to a full 8 feet! That's pretty huge, and I think willl serve my purposes for the rest of this year. I don't think realistically I'm going to get a 12 to 20 foot screen built and, even if I did, it certainly wouldn't be portable. My next little project is to build a table on wheels that can roll all of my A/V equipment to and from the boat. I'm going to work on this little engineering project with my daughter, Lauren, who loves to do woodworking. See, who says I never blog?
Matt Morris finally got his first win yesterday. Well, it's about time..

Last evening I took a bunch of kids out on the boat for our first movie showing of the season. It was a bit cool, but we all bundled up and enjoyed "Lady and the Tramp" together. Here are some photographs to accompany some of my more recent blog posts. Each photograph hyperlinks to a fullsize image. Our 7foot tripod movie screen on the front of the boat. As the sun sets on the lake, it's finally dark enough to start the movie. Solar panel soaking up the juice. My Eiki 16mm SL-0 ready to roll with a hyper-zoom lens. Here's a photograph of the kids watching the movie. Taken with a flash, it was pitch black at the time the photo was taken. Another shot, with boat pilot juice in the foreground. A great photograph of the film projected at night. Note the lights reflecting off of the lake in the background. As I explained before, I got this movie 'cheap' (only $350) because of the english subtitles. This snapshot captured the absolute perfect line in the movie. A gr
Ok, no compelling or interesting dialouge today, but as a journal, I thought I would just jot down some brief notes of stuff going on. Well, my last post was about baseball. However, the first 10 Cardinal games have been a major dissapointment. We are 5-5, but three of those wins were simply beating up on the lowly Brewers. Of the 5 we lost, at least 3 were blown leads in the late innings. Last Saturday I took my son Johnny to see the Cardinals - Astros game. I had the best seats in my entire life, 17 rows behind home plate. And the seats were free too, a gift from our friends Diane and Lenny Brown. Matt Morris pitched a scorcher, only 3 hits into the 9th inning. Then, with a 1-0 lead, what does our brilliant manager do? He *pulls him out* in the 9th!?? Then sends in a left handed pitcher who blows the game. How dissapointing. We have no closer, just closer by committee. I hope they straighten this train wreck out, and soon. Speaking of baseball, I just purchased a spe
