Wow. what a fantastic weekend. This post is just a raw data dump so I have a written record of this weekend and can bump my previous post. My son Johnny is in a private school and this was his first chance to come home for the weekend. On Saturday morning I made the two and a half hour drive to go pick him up, and two and a half hours to get him back home. Nothing like a brisk five hour drive on a Saturday morning to get your weekend off to a quick start. Johnny spent the afternoon with his mom and they went to the mall to watch "Matrix Reloaded" and to do some shopping. While they were out at the mall I did a little shopping myself. I started my DVD collection, buying about 30 DVD's all at once. I also got a second deep-cell battery for the boat, so now I have about 350amps of power available on the weekends. For Terry I bought a combination cooler/grill at Walmart. These are really cool, it just looks like a regular cooler on wheels you can roll around. Howev

For those of you who did not understand the point of yeserday's post, let me explain. My friend Suz Dod passed away last fall. We were not like the best friends in the world, but she had an extremely beautiful spirit and I loved her for it. The way I felt like I stayed in touch with Suz, even after she moved away, was by reading her and Bruce's blog pages. In honor of Suz I decided that I should create a blog so those who are kind enough to call me friend might get the same sense of connection reading mine. I know blogs are boring and generally pointless, but if it is your friend who is posting it never feels that way, at least not to me.
While our jobs are not always a negative part of our lives I have made a general policy of not posting about my job on this blog site. I feel a blog should be, primarily, about the things important in your life that are *not* job related. Thus, my thoughts when yesterday I broke that rule and made a comment about something going on a
Remember Suz.
I'm not supposed to talk about my job.
I'm really not.
Remember Suz.
Then again, today we shipped our game.
Hurray!! Hurray!!! Hurray!!!
But...wait...wooops.....we did not, technically speaking, ship a game.
We shipped version 1.0 of an *ONLINE* game.
Which means...our job has just begun.
So, after someone purchases our game retail, well, we have to constantly rev and improve the product to enhance their online experience.
This is a good thing. It means a continuing revenue stream and continued employment. That is a very good thing.
However, you lose that sense of satisfaction of saying 'It's done. It's over. I can take a break.' Well, when a hundred thousand people pile into your product and you have to support them, it's hard to 'take a break'.
Well, eventually you have to take a break. What else are you going to do?
When is that going to be? In 2 weeks, a month, two months? I don
If the weather holds out, I"m thinking of trying to show a movie on my boat this Saturday night. If I do, then I will be sure to take a fresh batch of photographs to show how large my new movie screen is. It's quite a complex affair though, getting all of the equipment out there and set up and hoping nothing goes wrong. It will be a lot of fun just to try though.
I know I haven't posted anything for a while. The things 'going on' in my life are not subjects I typically talk about here. I'm working at my job, trying to get our product to ship. Nothing more to say than that. I still have an ongoing family crisis. The situation is stabalized for the moment, but it still consumes a lot of my time. It's not a topic I mind discussing with my friends, it's just not appropriate to bring up on a blog site. I did have fun following the Cardinals winning streak, that is until they followed it up with an embarassing losing streak. I have tickets to the Cardinals / Cubs game a week from Sunday at Bush. That should be a blast and a half! My super giant tripod screen showed up and..wow..it's *HUGE*. I was concerned it wouldn't seem that much bigger than my old one. Afterall, what's really the difference between a 6 foot screen and an 8 foot screen? Well, 36 square feet versus 64, that's what. I can't wait to try to
