I am currently the winning bidder on Ebay for this item. I really hope I win it. This will be a great addition to my collection! I also just purchased one of these today. Of course, my wife says I should just exercise more and not use mechanical devices to cover up my health problems. I'm sure she is right. However, I'm about to go on a driving trip that will have me sitting in a car for as much as 30 hours. I am going to 'need' this when I get back; pun intended. I'll take plenty of pictures on my bacation and post a nice update to the blog when I return. And, for you robbers casing my house..my nephew Charlie is house sitting for us to protect the property while we are gone.
I love that my weblog used to just scroll backwards in time. This blog is as much for me as anybody else, and just like looking through and old photo album I like to just scroll through page after page. However, I think I have hit the upper edge. I now have a number of years of posts and if they are all put on a single web page it pretty much begins to croak most web-browsers just trying to load it. So, today I am going to reset it so it only keeps up the most recent ten posts at a time. If you want to go back in time, you can use the 'archives' pages.

GDC Report: Ok, I want to record the series of events that happened this past week before I quickly forget them. The first thing to note is that nothing of particular significance really happened, but I want a record of my trip nonetheless. I will start on last Friday the 4th. I received my Freemason ring; I believe I mentioned this already. However, I don't think I put up a link to go with it. I purchased M26. Of course I didn't meet any Freemasons at the conference. In fact, I didn't bring the topic up except with some of my friends. The general response I would get is my grandfather/uncle/brother in law is/was a Mason. I spoke to Michael Abrash about the topic quite a bit and I seemed to convince him it was an excellent way to spend time once you eventually 'retire'. Of course, Michael is still very skeptical about the concept of retirement in general and we had a lengthy discussion on the many things a person can do while they are, technically, 'retired'...
I'm heading off to the Game Developers Conference tomorrow morning. I'm doing something a little different this year, I'm going to stay at my friend John Oberschelp's house and take public transportation to the convention center. This is the first time GDC has been directly in San Francisco before. I'll bring my camera and try to take some nice snapshots to upload when I return. The company I work for just announced their public existance today, so I plan to just be keeping my head low to avoid the publicity hounds. I got my Masonic ring on Friday and I'm quite delighted with it. It acts as an excellent reminder to me, all of the time, that I should act by the highest standard of ethical and moral conduct in both my public and private interactions. At first I thought it would be cool to meet a fellow freemason at the conference until I did a serious reality check. What are the chances that any other game developer is a Freemason? Considering our entire in...
